Cools very well. About as loud as a hotel room A/C. 21.25" window is barely tall enough.

My building's central hair has been broken since before last summer and I caved. The advertised minimum window height varied between 21.5" and 22.5". GIven that the unit itself is only 20.25", I decided to chance it. Turns out a 21.25" opening is, with the support installed, exactly the minimum height for the opening. You could probably get away with 20.75" without the support.Keeps my bedroom very cool. It's not silent, I wouldn't even call it "quiet", definitely not as quiet as the advertising leads you to believe. If you've slept in a hotel room in summer with the A/C running it's comparable to that. The noise doesn't bother me but it might bother light sleepers.

Love everything about it except it didn't come with a plexiglass piece to go above it. I just got a piece of some sort of plastic that looked like corrugated cardboard but plastic which is not what I want above the unit. Luckily the piece from our old window unit fit perfectly so I used it.

I bought one of these last year and it only lasted 1 year. I called and there is NO tech support they just gave me my money back (took a few weeks). So I had to buy a new one for more money and install it and now figure out how to get rid of the old one. It turns out the unit is low on "Freon" and there is no way to refill a windows unit.Besides that it is OK. Annoying feature is each time you turn it on you have to change the energy saving mode to cool. It will NOT remember this. The fan is not that strong on high. To work better I put a fan in front of it to blow the air around the room. Also you have to set the temp very low, like 61 to get it to cool the room to 68.The problem is there are only a few people who make casement versions so no rela choice.Other than that for the year it worked it was fine and I might have have rated it a 3 or 4.Will see how long the new unit lasts.

this machine is quiet and effective. its thermostat allows us to set it and forget it. our house has about 900 sq ft in it, and this AC handled it all during a recent heat wave. I recommend it to anyone who needs a casement unit.
