WHEN i BOUGHT MY HOME 21 YEARS AGO IT CAME WITH A JEN-AIR STOVE ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE WE JUST PURCHASED. SINCE I ONLY CAN USE A DOWNDRAFT EXHAUST STOVE AND THIS IS BASICALLY THE ONLY COMPANY THAT HAS ONE I THERE WAS NOT A CHOICE WHAT I WAS GOING TO REPLACE MY OLD STOVE. AFTER FINALLY FINDING A PLACE TO PURCHASE THE STOVE AND FIND A PERSON WHO COULD INSTALL THE STOVE IT IS FINALLY INSTALLED AND WORKING. I HAVE TO SAY THE THE CONTROL PANEL IS A NIGHTMARE. WITH HOW IT IS POSITIONED. WHEN YOU TURN ON THE BURNERS YOU SMELL GAS BECAUSE THE IGNITORS ARE SET UP TO HORRIBLY WRONG. TIME WILL TELL IF WE WILL LEARN TO DEAL WITH THIS STOVES INDIVIDUAL ISSUES--BUT IF I KNEW ALL THE INSTALL ISSUES AND HOW COMPLICATED IT WORKS. I MAY HAVE TOTALLY CHANGED MY KITCHEN TO USE A TRADITIONAL STOVE. OH--IT DOES LOOK TERIFFICE

I bought this to replace my 29 year old jenn air gas downdraft which I loved!!! This one... The design is just bad...the range top controls are flat to the top of the range. So can only see time, etc by standing over it... The back burner on the left bairly keeps water boiling, the touch control pad is do "touchy" it has to be turned off so as to be cleaned. The timer only works when the touch pad is on. The time bake/delay can't be set by time of day ...just not as great as the older model. but the oven is a nice size and bakes evenly. If I were to re do my kitchen...would not buy!!

Just finished a new remodel and since we did not meet code, used a jenn air down draft to avoid installing a large range hood. Everyone warned us the fan would ruin the heat and not work properly, but so far it has been relatively quiet and not removed all the heat from the gas burners. Very happy.
