OK! so hate the washer but I have to make lemonade out of lemons. Only wash on the largest water cycle for regular to large loads, only use tide (you cant use cheap washing powder or your clothes will not come out clean) and powder bleach like oxi clean in every load so your clothes will come out CLEAN, use warm or hot water unless your clothes are lightly soiled , use the pause button to soak clothes/whites works for at least 30 minutes before cycle will start again (Learned that tip today yeah) follow these tips and your clothes will come out clean. you can use the regular load for small loads anything more and they wont come out clean.

I bought mine on craigslist. To soak, I press the pause button during the wash. This has worked for at least 30 minutes. I don't yet know how long until it automatically drains but it's still holding....

This “washing” machine takes too long to fill because the auto sensor turns off and on constantly. There is no way to soak cloths for reasons that I can’t even imagine. No variety of detergent or booster has any affect on our clothes with this machine. Like other reviewers, we will never purchase another Amana product after they put their name on this thing.

I purchased this about a month ago with the dryer and I regret this immensely. As other posts mentioned, no option to soak clothes and the wash cycle itself doesn't constantly run but pauses between "turns". My daughter's and my clothes still remain dirty after washes. I've tried using a pre-laundry (oxiclean spray) on the clothes and the wash cycle doesn't remove the spray. I've tried original oxiclean and it simply leaves the grime all over the clothes. I can't express enough how much I hate this product. I will NEVER purchase an Amana product ever again and am amazed that they are in business with the type of product that they have put on the market. Like mentioned, I would give negative stars as well. This product is that bad.
